Uhrick Family Journey

So far this summer we have been having lots of fun with our friends. We went to Holiday World, last week with friends.  It was very hot but we had lots of fun hanging out in the water park.  We also have been to the Wednesday movies a couple of times, at our local theater. There has also been the splash park for some more water fun.  Today we are off to the beach and a picnic lunch. 

Has many I'm sure have noticed, I haven't gone private yet with my blog.  I had made a decision to do just that but over the last week or so I've been really torn with this decision. Many our family members, who live several hours away, check in from time to time to see what is happening with our family but none have let me no that they would like to continue being able to check in on us.  Not sure why that is, maybe they just haven't read about my wanting to take the blog private or maybe they just haven't gotten around to sending me a message.  Any way for now things will stay the same; mainly because I just have too many other things going on to make the switch over to creating a private blog.  I haven't changed my mind about going private with my blog, it is just going to have to wait until things slow down, like after school starts and we get settled into that daily routine.  I will keep you posted and for those I know that check in and I have e-mail addresses for, you will definitely get an invitation for my private blog once I make the changes probably in the fall. 

Praying for all the Children and their families who are still stuck in the Guatemala System.  Praying you and your children will be able to be together forever soon.  Also praying for healing for little girl who was hit by a car, another Guate family, and her family during this time.  Hope everyone has a blessing filled day.

I'm been thinking of making some changes  to this blog or starting a new private blog.  I've decided after some thought to make a new private blog.  So for those family and friends who would like to continue reading about the happenings with our family please send me and e-mail, a message via this blog or comment to this posting to let me know that you want to continue following and include an e-mail address.  Once I have things set up I will send invites to those who respond to this posting. 

Today has been a quiet day.  My hubby and son headed off to see grandma and grandpa giving me some much needed me time.  Haven't done much but enjoy the quiet.  I have however been able to work my way through about half my lesson, in the my course.  I had planned to take a walk but at 7:30 p.m. it was still way to hot and oppresive outside, so it was a very short walk.  I've talked to my mom a couple of times, she has had a quiet day as well.  Right now I'm watching a little T.V. and listening to the occassional roll of thunder, still off in the distance. 

My guys called a hour or so ago, so Daniel could tell me goodnight before heading off to bed.  Miss them both terribly and can't wait for them to get home tomorrow.  But I really did need some time to myself; haven't really ha d any time to spend alone in almost 3 years. 

This time has given me time to think and realize even more how much I have been blessed.  I have a wonderful family, a great husband, an intelligent, handsome son.  Both of my guys are so caring about others.  God is truly so very good! 

 

Sorry it has taken me so long to upload new photos.  Guess I just was having trouble adding a new album because I so enjoy seeing the faces and beautiful places of Guatemala when I log on to my blog.  But has promised I am uploading the new pics we've taken of Daniel and a couple of graduation pics from this month. 

We are staying in doors mostly this week, it has been raining or, like today, incredibly hot.  Have to wait until the evening before getting outside.  Hoping to  get to Holiday World soon and enjoy some time in the water park.  Tomorrow we are planning to head to Evansville, for story time at the Children's Museum.

Well better go; have to finish the laundry and head off to the library.

I finally got my computer back so am no longer computer challenged.  They found and removed virus/spyware, which was creating the problem with internet explorer.   Daniel is very busy; wish I had a thimble full of his energy. 

We spent the weekend at mom's; went to see Ali and my cousin J graduate.  Hard to believe they are old enough to be out of H.S. and thinking about college.  We attended the surprise birthday party my cousins planned for my aunt Hazel.  She turned 70 on Friday. It was great to see all my cousins and their kids; haven't gotten to see them in quite some time. Mom was working at the store, while we were there, except Sunday, so we wer on our own.   We really enjoy being there anyway, being able to do things on our own but also having family time too.  Larry and Daniel went fishing, which allowed me some time to relax and have some time to myself.  Daniel loves fishing with his daddy. 

Our drive home was quiet except for the end. Larry might say it was a little chilling but funny.  We were almost to Jasper, when I picked up my ice tea, Larry had gotten for me, to take a drink.  I didn't get one drink of my tea, because when I picked it up the lid came off and it spilled all over Larry, the driver's seat he was sitting in and the console of the car. Fortunately most of it went into the cup holders, in the middle of the console, so it wasn't to difficult to clean up. I have to say, I felt really bad about it spilling on Larry but it was really comical. 

Today we are off for some play time in the park and tomorrow to the free movie at our local theater.  Didn't get any good pics at the graduations, except one of J. will try to post it later.
